Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (F/M/D)

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will build and operate the core infrastructure that powers our AI and robotics development.

You will be responsible for setting up infrastructure from the ground up, including compute, storage, and networking, while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability for high-performance workloads such as machine learning and robotics systems.

Your Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Architecture & Operations: Design, implement, and maintain on-premise IT infrastructure (compute, storage, networking). Perform capacity planning and develop and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies. Maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation
• Physical Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and monitor on-premise IT facilities (servers, cooling, power) and hardware. Design and provision storage and compute/GPU infrastructure for high-performance workloads (ML/AI)
• Enterprise Networking: Design and implement WAN/LAN/WiFi network topology with proper segmentation and security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS). Configure and manage enterprise networking equipment (switches, routers, load balancers)
• System Administration & Support: Deploy and manage Linux server infrastructure. Configure and deploy employee workstations (Linux, macOS, Windows) and manage IT equipment procurement. Provide technical troubleshooting and support. Manage user accounts with SSO
• Vendor Management: Establish and manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with service providers (ISPs, colocation)

• Linux server administration
• Networking (WAN/LAN, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
• GPU infrastructure provisioning and management
• Storage systems (RAID, SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery solutions
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Python, Bash scripting
• On-premise data center hardware and operations

Must Have

• Proven experience building or transforming IT infrastructure environments
• Strong expertise in enterprise networking (WAN/LAN, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
• Hands-on experience with server hardware setup, configuration, and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of storage systems (RAID, SAN/NAS) and backup/recovery strategies
• Experience with Linux server administration and troubleshooting
• Understanding of data center operations (power, cooling, physical security)
• Experience provisioning and managing GPU-based compute infrastructure
• Scripting experience in Python and/or Bash for automation
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex systems
• Good documentation and communication skills

• Experience in fast-scaling or early-stage environments
• Experience managing hybrid on-prem + cloud infrastructure
• Experience with identity and access management systems (SSO)
• Vendor and procurement management experience
• Exposure to robotics or AI compute environments
