Leads team and independently supports the global design, implementation, and maintenance of virtualization infrastructure. Provides guidance and expertise to management and users on topics surrounding strategy and best practices. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Advanced individual contributor who works on highly complex problems, tasks, or projects.
Principle Duties
- Coordinates the design, develop, and maintain the physical infrastructure, network, and layout of a data center.
- Coordinates or leads creation of architectural framework for servers, hardware, peripherals, and connections.
- Implement standards and guidelines. Ensure adequate capacity for corporate computing needs and identify capacity trends.
- Coordinates and provides technical support, provisioning, and automation capabilities for compute resources utilizing multiple operating systems and hardware technologies across virtualization environments.
- Coordinates or leads reliability testing and plan disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintains operating efficiency and stability, ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data, and respond to outages and other issues.
- Provides regular status, operational , incident, and change reports.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience - Required
- 8+ years experience managing data center resources and managing virtual hosting platforms - Required
- Advanced experience working with Unix, Linux, Windows, and container based systems - Required
- Advanced ability to automate and maintain automation for core job functions. Advanced understanding of data center layout planning, networking, and life cycle management. - Required
- Advanced experience installing, configuring, and automating multiple operating systems. Advanced knowledge of trends in DevOps, micro-services, and automation orchestration. - Required
- Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge. Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines. - Required
- Advanced investigative, analytical and problem solving skills. Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions. Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions. - Required
- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects. Advanced ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. - Required
- Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management. Advanced negotiating and persuasion skills. - Required
- Advanced experience designing and implementing configuration management solutions across various operating systems and virtualization environments. Advanced experience of configuration management utilities (Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Terraform). - Required
- Advanced expertise planning and physically installing servers, including coordinating with network, storage, and third-party datacenter teams; Advanced knowledge of domain and intranet management. - Required
- Advanced knowledge of virtualization concepts and technologies including private cloud, public cloud, software defined infrastructure, and serverless architecture. Advanced skills in virtual platform management. Advanced knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Powershell, Bash). - Required
- 3+ years experience programming or building automation. Experience leading or relevant understanding of Agile concepts and ceremonies. - Preferred
- 10+ years experience managing data center resources and managing virtual hosting platforms. - Preferred

Compensation Range
$107,060.00 - $159,390.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
