Senior Cloud Platform System Engineer
Indexed description
We’re looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer focused on infrastructure reliability and automation in a fully remote, globally distributed team. You’ll help keep production stable across regions and reduce manual work by building repeatable infrastructure using IaC. You’ll also have opportunities to work on automation and AI-enabled operations (e.g., self-service tooling, smarter alerting, knowledge assistants).
What You'll Do
Infrastructure as Code and Automation
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, and scripting (Python, Bash, Go).
- Own repeatable, version-controlled deployments across multiple data centre regions.
- Reduce manual operational work by building self-service workflows and safer change processes.
- Contribute to AI automation projects including RAG-based knowledge assistants, intelligent alerting, AI-assisted change management, and operational chatbots.
- Evaluate and integrate LLMs, vector databases, and retrieval pipelines into DC operations.
- Help build training platforms and knowledge bases that improve team efficiency.
- Work across infrastructure, observability, and platform tooling projects. This is not a single-domain role.
- Participate in system and application upgrades and migrations, Database monitoring improvements, alerting validation, and network configuration management.
- Partner with global teams to plan and execute platform changes with minimal disruption.
- Participate in on-call rotation. Troubleshoot production issues end-to-end and drive fixes to resolution.
- Contribute to post-incident reviews and turn findings into automation and monitoring improvements.
- Keep production systems healthy, stable, and highly available across regions.
- 5+ years in a Systems, DevOps, or SRE role with hands-on production experience.
- Strong coding ability. You write IaC, automation scripts, and tooling, not just run commands.
- Ansible (reusable playbooks and roles) and at least one other IaC tool (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar).
- Solid Linux administration and production troubleshooting skills.
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Networking fundamentals: L3/L4, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, load balancers, VPN/IPsec, firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML tooling for operations (LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, vector search).
- Comfortable working across multiple projects and technology domains at the same time.
- Experience building or integrating AI-powered applications (chatbots, knowledge assistants, automated workflows using LLMs).
- Observability stack experience: Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, ELK/Elastic.
- Database and messaging systems: MariaDB/MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ.
- Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Virtualisation: VMware and/or KVM.
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions.
- Security fundamentals: hardening, secrets management, RBAC and least privilege.
- Web and edge: reverse proxies, NGINX, load balancer configuration.
- Please submit your resume and application in English.
