Infrastructure / Platform Engineer

Our client a leading financial services organisation are looking to hire a hands-on Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to take full ownership of the big data environment. This role sits across on-prem colocation (SAN, bare metal, VMware ESXi) and modern platform layers, with a focus on bringing consistency and structure across all environments (Prod, SIT, Pre-Prod, DR).

You’ll be the go-to for this stack, sitting between core infrastructure and distributed platforms, making sure everything is designed properly, runs reliably, and is standardised end-to-end

What you’ll be doi

  Owning the full infrastructure stack – VMware ESXi, SAN storage, and blade environme
• ntsBuilding and maintaining hardened Linux images, including monitoring and log forward
• ingActing as the SME across Kubernetes (networking, ingress, RBAC) in a production sett
• ingSupporting and optimising core data platforms like Apache Spark, Elasticsearch (sharding, ILM), and PostgreSQL (replicati
