Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain physical and virtual server environments, including on-premises and cloud-based Windows and Linux systems
- Manage and monitor backup systems, including scheduling, verification, and periodic recovery testing
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, identity management, and access controls
- Support and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and wireless systems
- Ensure systems are patched, up to date, and compliant with internal security standards
- Monitor systems for alerts and respond to incidents with proper documentation and resolution
- Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation support and assist with Tier 1 support as needed
- Manage and resolve tickets within SLA requirements with clear and accurate documentation
- Plan and execute infrastructure improvements and projects, including upgrades, deployments, and migrations
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, diagrams, and inventory records
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all responsibilities
- Takes ownership of assigned systems, tasks, and issues through to resolution without the need for follow-up
- Maintains consistent reliability in attendance, responsiveness, and daily operations
- Communicates clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Maintains a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively identifies risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Contributes actionable recommendations and follows through on implementation
- Upholds security, compliance, and operational best practices across all systems
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience/certifications
- 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and endpoint management
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, policies, and subnetting)
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and system issues
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Entra, Intune, Defender, Azure)
- 2+ years of experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox, etc.)
- PowerShell scripting and task automation
- Experience with managing ERP systems (Infor Syteline)
- Enterprise network platforms (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, UniFi)
- VoIP systems (3CX, 8x8, or similar PBX solutions)
Ability to assemble, rack, and install hardware as needed
Work Environment
This position is on-site in Chattanooga, TN, with occasional travel to other company locations. This role may require participation in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours work to support maintenance, upgrades, or critical incidents.
