Role Description:
The Jr. IT Infrastructure Administrator will administrate, support and maintain virtual servers, network systems, workstations, storage solutions, and business applications to ensure reliable, efficient, and secure operations of all IT and business services. This role requires strong technical expertise, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams. The ideal person also has and understanding of DRP and IT security concepts.
Job Duties:
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers and ensure operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) are properly configured, maintained, and updated to ensure secure and efficient operation of services and applications.
- Administer virtualization environments (VMware, Nutanix), ensure that middleware solutions like application servers, databases, and integration platforms are functioning optimally.
- Ensure that applications are properly deployed, updated, and integrated into the platform in addition to providing technical support to end-users for hardware or software issues, including troubleshooting, repairs, and user training.
- Manage configuration and deployment of workstations to users and administer, configure and manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and VPN solutions to ensure secure and seamless connectivity across the organization.
- Oversee storage systems (SAN, NAS, etc.) and manage scheduling, automation & testing of backup procedures to comply with disaster recovery and business continuity policies.
- Ensure that there is adequate storage space to meet current and future demands, avoiding potential data shortages or performance degradation.
- Contribute to the development, review and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring systems can recover quickly after failures.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
Education & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 1-2 years’ of experience providing desktop and end-user support in enterprise environments
- Experience with help desk platforms (e.g., ServiceDesk, ServiceNow, Jira)
- Familiarity with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.).
- Strong experience troubleshooting applications, OS, and endpoint performance issues
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
- Proficient in server management, virtualization (VMware, Nutanix)
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, HYCU, etc.)
- Solid understanding of security practices and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption)
- Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds)

- Certifications: A+, Network+, CCNA, VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), MSFT Azure Administrator Associate are all a plus
