Senior DevSecOps Engineer

📍 Location: Brussels (near South Station) + occasional interventions on-site across Belgium

Project Overview

You will join a team working on complex real-time systems used to manage critical infrastructure. These systems operate across multiple sites nationwide and require high levels of reliability, security, and performance.

You will be part of a DevSecOps team, responsible for automating the software delivery lifecycle with security embedded at every stage.

Role Purpose

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, your role is to design, implement and improve automated deployment processes, while ensuring security, stability, and efficiency across development and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

DevSecOps & Automation

• Design and implement automated deployment pipelines

• Improve and maintain the DevSecOps toolchain

• Automate installation, updates, and patching processes

Deployment & Operations

• Perform initial production deployments in collaboration with system teams

• Support rollout across multiple production sites

• Provide L2 support for applications and infrastructure

• Participate occasionally in on-site interventions (including night work)

Security & Compliance

• Monitor vulnerabilities and security risks

• Ensure security is integrated into all processes

• Propose mitigation actions and improvements

Environment Management

• Maintain development environments (intranet)

• Contribute to patch management (dev & production)

Continuous Improvement

• Test and implement new tools, technologies and practices

• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation

Profile Requirements

Technical Skills - Must Have

• Strong expertise in Linux (CentOS / RedHat / Fedora)

• Solid experience in DevOps practices and automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet…)

• Good knowledge of IT security principles

• Good understanding of software development principles

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (router, switch, VPN, firewall)

• Professional level in English + French or Dutch (both is a strong plus)

Nice to Have

• Scripting: Python, Perl, Bash

• Programming: Java, C, C++

• Monitoring tools: Nagios, Zabbix

• Databases knowledge

• Tools: Git, IDEs (VS Code, IntelliJ, Eclipse)

• Basic VMware knowledge

Experience

• Master's degree in IT or equivalent experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

• At least 3 years in DevOps / DevSecOps

• At least 3 years in IT security (can overlap with DevOps experience)

• Strong documentation mindset

• Good communication and teamwork

• Autonomous with strong ownership

• Able to work under pressure

• Customer-oriented and professional

Additional Expectations

• Willingness to work occasionally outside business hours (deployments, go-live, support phases)

• Ability to work in critical and high-security environments
