Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Jira, Git, and AI Automation Administrator to support and enhance our Change Management, Release Management, and DevOps platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administration, automation, integrations, scripting, and continuous improvement of Jira, Confluence, GitHub/Bitbucket, and related tools. This role requires a strong practitioner mindset with experience in AI-driven automation and platform engineering.
DevOps Tools - GitHub (Actions/Runners), Jira (API/Workflows)
Platform- Kubernetes (Helm/Operators), Unix Administration
(RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS).
Observability- OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo.
Automation - Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Ansible, AWX Tower.
Cloud - Experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Jira, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, and Bitbucket platforms.
- managing migrations, SSO integrations (Okta),
- Design and implement Jira workflows, field configurations, permission schemes, notification schemes, and project templates.
- Manage user access, authentication, and platform governance.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using Jira Automation, Groovy, Python, Shell, and REST APIs.
- Build integrations between Jira, Git repositories, CI/CD tools, Service Management platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Observability: Build and scale the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) using OpenTelemetry (Otel) native receivers for enterprise-wide visibility.
- Automation: Develop custom APIs and automation in Python or Node.js to streamline onboarding, patching, secret management and other related automation tasks.
- Leverage AI and automation technologies to improve workflows, ticket management, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Administer Git repositories, branching strategies, permissions, webhooks, runners, and DevOps integrations.
- Lead tool migrations, upgrades, and platform optimization initiatives.
- Create documentation, standards, and best practices while providing technical guidance to stakeholders.
- Cloud: able to manage application across cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM)SRE Practice: Define SLOs/SLIs, manage on-call rotations for internal tools, and drive root cause analysis (RCA) to improve system resilience.ready to learn new technology including AI based on the future needs of the team.
Detail JD : - As a platform engineer, you will architect and automate the internal DevOps ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between software engineering and infrastructure, ensuring our core tools (GitHub, Jira) and observability stacks (LGTM/OpenTelemetry) are scalable, secure, and self-service. You will also be responsible for managing the reliability and performance of internal enterprise applications.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of IT experience with 3+ years of Jira Administration experience.(Jira Certificate- from Atlassian)
- Strong expertise in Jira, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, and/or Bitbucket administration.
- Hands-on experience with ScriptRunner, Groovy scripting, Jira Automation, and REST APIs.
- Experience with Python, Shell scripting, or similar automation technologies.
- Knowledge of GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Experience integrating Atlassian tools with enterprise applications and authentication systems (LDAP/SSO/SAML).
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, Change Management, and Release Management processes.
- Experience with Linux/Windows administration and SQL databases.
- Exposure to AI-powered automation, Copilot technologies, or Generative AI solutions is highly desirable.
