We are looking for a curious and motivated Info Security Specialist to join our CSIRT Core Support team in Auckland.
About the team | Mō te tīma
CSIRT Core is part of ASB’s Cyber Security Incident Response function. The team provides the core platforms, services, and infrastructure that enable cyber security detection and response across the bank.
We manage and support the systems that other cyber teams rely on, ensuring they are secure, stable, and performing as expected. This includes ongoing operational support, platform improvement, and working closely with engineering and security teams to reduce risk and strengthen resilience.

As a Info Security Specialist in CSIRT Core Support, you will take ownership of the platforms and infrastructure that underpin ASB’s cyber security capability.
This is a hands-on, on-the-tools role with a strong operational focus. You will be responsible for maintaining platform health, supporting day to day activity, and driving improvements across systems and services.
You will work across a broad set of security and infrastructure capabilities, contributing to both operational delivery and the ongoing uplift of the team’s tools, processes, and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of platforms and services used in cyber security detection and response
- Monitor system health and performance, identify issues early, and ensure stable and secure service delivery
- Lead and support changes including patching, upgrades, and configuration in line with security and operational standards
- Work with engineering, technology, and cyber security teams to deliver reliable and secure services
- Coordinate with stakeholders to manage priorities, resolve issues, and maintain service continuity
- Document processes, changes, and operational activities to support consistency and knowledge sharing
- Participate in operational support and on call activities as required
- Take ownership of specific systems or platforms over time, building subject matter expertise
- Support the handling and management of security data, logs, and system outputs in line with operational and security standards
- Continue building capability across infrastructure, automation, resilience, and cyber security practices
You communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and take a pragmatic approach to solving problems.
Key Skills And Experience
- Experience supporting infrastructure, platforms, or enterprise systems in a secure and operational environment
- Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts such as compute, networking, identity, cloud, and platform services
- Experience with operational activities such as patching, upgrades, monitoring, alerting, or automation
- Ability to solve technical problems in a practical and risk aware way
- Around 2+ years’ experience in infrastructure, platform operations, systems engineering, or a related field
- Experience working within enterprise standards, change processes, or governance frameworks is helpful
- Exposure to cloud, scripting, monitoring tools, or service management platforms is an advantage
- Experience working with system logs, data ingestion, or operational monitoring environments is beneficial
- Relevant certifications or training in infrastructure, cloud, or security are beneficial
