Key Responsibilities
- Architect central Ansible Automation Platform tailored for mixed OS platforms (Linux and Windows) across Azure, AWS & VMWare cloud estates.
- Develop use cases to extensively leverage Ansible automation for day to day public and private cloud VM operations.
- Develop a central and harmonized configuration management layer across Linux & Windows virtual machines.
- Define reusable roles, playbooks, and collections for common infrastructure tasks (patching, provisioning, compliance, etc.).
- Build execution environments and manage Ansible content collections across teams.
- Ensure operational activities of the Ansible automation platform are managed on day-to-day needs.
- Automate routine operations across Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.) and Windows Server (Active Directory, patching, services, roles).
- Create strategy to use Ansible widely for provisioning, configuration management, security hardening, patching, desired state management and decom tasks.
- Collaborate with system admins, cloud engineers, and InfoSec to align automation with policies and business goals.
- Integrate Ansible with other enterprise tools (e.g., ServiceNow, monitoring tools, CI/CD platforms, secrets management, Terraform).
- Establish governance: RBAC, audit, compliance, and logging for automation workflows.
- Train and support internal teams on Ansible usage and self-service automation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve automation performance, scalability, and reliability.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Ansible, including 2+ years in architect-level roles.
- Expertise in managing Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (including Controller, Hub, Execution Environments, Collections) is must.
- Strong experience automating both Linux (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server platforms using Ansible.
- Seasoned in writing modularized playbooks for both Linux and Windows VMs is must.
- Solid understanding of systems administration (Shell scripting, PowerShell, networking, permissions, etc.,).
- Experience integrating Ansible with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) is plus.
- Deep familiarity with version control (Git), YAML, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Knowledge of enterprise authentication systems (Active Directory, LDAP) and secure secrets handling.
- Strategic thinking to identify automation scope and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to lead cross-functional implementation.
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or similar certification.
- Experience with Windows automation using WinRM or DSC.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and CMDB integration.
- Exposure to monitoring/logging systems (e.g., Dynatrace, Cloud native monitoring tools) in automated environments.
