Platform Automation Engineer

Tempest Vane Partners have an exciting role available with a prestigious hedge fund who are looking to hire a Platform Automation Engineer into their End User Computing and Infrastructure team. This is an engineering heavy role that will require the successful applicant to proactively use automation to improve end user experience across the firm, eliminating toil and reoccurring production issues from an operational perspective as well as improving engineering success across the firm with automation around their infrastructure platforms.

The successful Platform Engineer should be an automation specialist with extensive experience using Powershell or Python in their day to day workflows. In addition to this, strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience is highly advantageous as well as an in depth knowledge of the Microsoft infrastructure stack.

Key Requirements

• Expert level scripting skills with Powershell and/or Python
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Terraform and Chef
• In depth knowledge of Windows Server platforms, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and file servers
• Experience managing virtualised environments with technologies like VMware Horizon, Citrix desktop virtualisation
• Strong desktop, office device and network troubleshooting skills
