Hitachi Energy Transformers - Business Solutions IT Organization is seeking an Application Solution Architect to provide overall support to the Global BST IT team, driving value and business growth.
Job Role Overview:
As a Solution Architect, you are responsible for the design, integrity, and quality of an IT solution and of associated IT services delivered to Business, Support Functions, and IT Technology domains. Responsible for ensuring that the IT solution/service provides the required functionality and meets the cost expectations of the business. Collaborates with and contributes to project setup and delivery, as well as to service operations optimization
How you will make an Impact
- Be accountable for the end-to-end architecture and integration of Marketing & Sales (M&S) domain solutions, with hands-on leadership in configure-price-quote (CPQ) platforms, product configurators, and pricing engine design.
- Ensure a seamless quotation-to-order process by aligning CPQ and M&S applications with all adjacent enterprise functions - embedding engineering design rules and product data into configurators, integrating CPQ with Sales/CRM systems for synchronized quotes, and feeding confirmed quotes into Planning, Project Management, Supply Chain (SCM), and logistics workflows - while embedding legal and compliance requirements (e.g. contracts, terms) within the quoting system
- Maintain the architectural road map for the tools within the scope based on needs arising from projects and changes
- Define the technical IS solution and ensure alignment with other modules and surrounding IS applications through cooperation and collaboration across IS Solution Architects, IS Domain Architects and Functional Analysts
- Collaborate with Business Analyst, Application Manager, and the Team for complexity analysis and effort estimation of incoming business demand
- Determine non-functional requirements and ensure service/solution operation standards are considered accordingly
- Engage in requirements engineering to decide which requirements are covered by available standard functionalities, for which functionalities enhancements are needed, and for which functionalities workarounds are accepted
- Be responsible for translating the functional design into technical specifications from the Business Blueprint (BBEM)
- Communicate the technical specifications to the developers
- Formulate rules, principles, and guidelines to guide the development of the technical solutions
- Ensure technical specification is aligned with the quality assurance strategy (in cooperation with application manager and QA Lead)
- Support the Run organization in the incident and problem resolution when technical expertise is required
- Support validation, prioritization, and estimation of incoming change requests in collaboration with the relevant IT Service Manager and Application Manager
Your Background
3-5 + years of experience in enterprise-level IT Solution architecture
Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively in a geographically dispersed team
At least a Bachelor's Degree in information systems, electrical, or mechanical engineering
