Fullstack Engineer (up to 12M JPY/annum, in office, no Japanese required)

This is a rare full-stack engineering role for someone who wants startup-level ownership within a publicly listed corporate environment that moves at global market speeds. The company is an established, publicly traded investment and technology firm in Tokyo focused on digital asset infrastructure and modern financial applications. They build enterprise and consumer-facing web platforms that bridge traditional capital markets with the growing digital asset ecosystem.

Operating out of Tokyo with a lean corporate footprint, the organization provides a highly autonomous, results-oriented engineering environment with a base salary of up to 12M JPY plus equity. This position operates 5 days a week fully in office in central Tokyo. A very high fluency in English is required- enough to understand and work with fast-talking Native speakers with different regional accents. Japanese is not required, but it is a plus.

Position Description

As the first local technical touchpoint in the Tokyo office, you will own the development, scaling, and maintenance of public-facing web applications. Working closely with the Head of Engineering and a small, elite global engineering team, you will design secure server-side logic, build responsive user interfaces, and seamlessly integrate third-party APIs. The engineering culture values structural reasoning and product substance over rigid corporate processes, allowing you to independently drive features from architecture to implementation while collaborating with cross-functional product and design partners.

Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack software engineering

• Strong hands-on experience building web applications using technologies like Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js

• Solid proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and integrating external APIs

• Native-level English

• Experience utilizing modern AI tools and a strong interest in the digital asset or startup space

• High interest or background in web 3, crypto etc would be a plus
