The Role

You’ll work closely with our Solutions Engineering Lead, rolling out solution designs and staying involved across the whole process. A big part of the role is making sure our clients’ data and integrations run seamlessly and without headache, so they can trust their systems and operate their platform with confidence.

This is a role with genuine headroom. We’re looking for someone with the ambition and depth to grow with us taking on more of the solution-design and technical-leadership work over time, and for the right person, growing into a senior technical leadership position to grow and lead our development team as the business scales.

Your Mission

Own the outcomes that keep our customers happy, making sure their data and integrations run seamlessly and without headache. You’ll own the delivery of our clients’ HubSpot and Aircall integrations with a range of ERP and other platforms, working closely with our Solutions Engineer and Senior Developer. You will also support our implementation specialists and clients during UAT and roll out.

Application Requirements

To you apply you will need:

  1. An application letter addressing the criteria in this role.
  2. Your update to date resume
  3. A brief video introducing yourself along with why you feel you are a good fit for this role.

What You’ll Own

Integration Architecture & Delivery

  • Design and build integrations between HubSpot and ERP / field service platforms (Simpro, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Unleashed, Business Central, Jonas, and similar)
  • Architect robust, well-documented integration solutions where you balance client requirements against platform constraints and long-term stability
  • Define sync logic, data mapping, deduplication, and matching strategies across systems
  • Troubleshoot production sync failures between HubSpot and external systems, and resolve data quality issues and discrepancies

DevOps, Reliability & Data Operations

  • Own customer happiness on the technical side, making sure clients’ data and integrations run seamlessly and without headache
  • Own the Datadog observability stack: APM, logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerts, including semantic logging and trace correlation for integration monitoring
  • Monitor integration health and performance, and proactively alert on issues before they affect clients
  • Manage AWS, Render or Heroku-based platforms (dynos, databases, add-ons) and deploy code changes to production
  • Execute data migrations and bulk data operations; optimize database queries and API performance
  • Handle incident response and escalations, and author operational runbooks and troubleshooting procedures

Team & Ways of Working

  • Support and mentor the developers around you, setting sensible technical standards and helping them through complex integration problems
  • Review integration designs and code, and share knowledge across the team
  • Work closely with our CTO / Solutions Engineering Lead to roll out solution designs, staying involved from scoping through build and deployment
  • Partner with our Solutions Lead and project teams to translate business needs into sound technical designs and reliable delivery

Client-Facing & Solutions Engineering

  • Be a senior technical point of contact for clients where you help scope requirements, present solutions, and troubleshoot with confidence and clarity
  • Collaborate with our Solution leads to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build trust through clear communication
  • Support integration scoping and solutions-engineering input on new and existing client work

AI-Assisted Development

  • Use AI development tools — Claude Code and similar platforms — to work faster and lift the quality of what the team ships
  • Apply AI-assisted (“vibe coding”) workflows with tools like Cursor to prototype, build, and troubleshoot integrations
  • Help guide the team on getting genuine value from AI tooling in day-to-day delivery

What You Must Bring
  • 6–8+ years building production-grade integrations between CRM (ideally HubSpot), ERP, Field Service and other systems (Simpro, NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Jonas, or similar)
  • Deep hands-on experience with observability platforms (Datadog preferred, or similar APM tools) — you live in logs, traces, and dashboards. You know semantic logging and trace correlation.
  • Ruby fluency and Rails literacy: you can read, debug, and ship code confidently
  • PostgreSQL optimization and data pipeline fundamentals: you know how to tune queries, manage migrations, and ensure data quality
  • Client-facing technical communication: you can explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders without losing them or dumbing it down

What Else Matters
  • Knowledge of the HubSpot platform, its hubs and integration capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to lead client discussions
  • Platform management experience (Heroku, Render, AWS)
  • Background jobs / queue management (DelayedJob or Sidekiq)
  • Familiarity with modern front-end tooling (React and Next.js) to support integration UIs and internal tooling
  • API integration knowledge and strong debugging skills, with a systematic troubleshooting methodology
  • Working capability with AI development tools — Claude and similar platforms — and hands-on experience with AI-assisted / “vibe coding” workflows using tools like Cursor
  • Comfortable mentoring developers and lifting the technical standard of the team around you
  • Proactive monitoring mindset focused on preventing issues, with clear documentation habits

You’ll Thrive at Fileroom If You Are

Accountable / Extreme Ownership

You don’t pass the buck. If it’s broken, you fix it. You own the outcome, not just the task.

Self-Motivated / Self-Directed

You don’t need hand-holding. You see what needs doing and you do it. You manage your own time and priorities like a professional.

Excellence-Obsessed

Good enough isn’t good enough. You take pride in your work. You want to build things that last and work reliably.

Collaborative

You lift the team around you. You mentor, you share, you help. You make the people around you better.

Adaptable / Growth Mindset

You’re learning constantly. New tools, new systems, new challenges > you lean in. You don’t cling to “the way we’ve always done it.”

Proactive / Solutions-Oriented

You don’t just surface problems. You bring solutions. You think ahead. You prevent fires instead of just fighting them.

Client-Focused

You care about the outcome for the client, not just shipping code. You want them to trust their systems and love working with us.

Will Definitely Get Our Attention
  • Experience in a data science, solutions engineering or pre-sales technical capacity
  • Solid working experience with HubSpot APIs and partner-ecosystem experience
  • Background in an agency or consultancy environment serving multiple clients
  • You’re already using AI dev tools (Claude, Cursor) to work faster and ship better code

Where This Role Goes

This role has real headroom.

In year one: You’ll own integrations and DevOps end-to-end. You’ll be the go-to technical expert our clients and team rely on.

In year two: You’ll be co-designing solutions with our lead solutions architect and leading technical strategy for our largest clients. You’ll be shaping how we build, not just what we build.

Beyond that: For the right person, this grows into a senior technical leadership role as we scale.

If you want ownership, growth, and the chance to build something that matters, this is it.

Tech Stack

Datadog • Ruby / Rails • React • Next.js • PostgreSQL • Heroku • Render • AWS • DelayedJob / Sidekiq • HubSpot APIs • Git / GitHub • Claude Code • Cursor
