Java Full Stack / Microservices Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid Onsite)

Duration: 12 Months

Rate: $60–$70/hr W2

Join a hybrid team in Charlotte, NC working on modern Java-based enterprise applications. This contract opportunity focuses on full stack development and microservices architecture using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, React or Angular, cloud technologies, and containerized environments. The engagement is a 12-month contract role requiring onsite collaboration.

This opportunity offers the chance to work across a modern technology stack including cloud platforms, Kubernetes/OpenShift, messaging systems, and emerging GenAI tools. You'll contribute to scalable, high-impact applications while collaborating within an Agile environment and gaining exposure to cloud-native development, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Required Skills & Experience

· 5+ years of experience in Java development

· Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot

· Experience building and consuming REST APIs

· Hands-on experience with React or Angular

· Experience with microservices architecture

· Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB

· Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and OpenShift (OCP)

· Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift

· Experience with messaging technologies including Kafka and RabbitMQ

· Experience with asynchronous processing patterns

· Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible)

· Hands-on experience with GenAI tools

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Minimum 2 years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Desired Skills & Experience

· Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring team members

· Experience designing highly scalable distributed systems

· Exposure to enterprise cloud transformation initiatives

· Additional experience with automation and DevOps best practices
