Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer / Software Engineer to join a large enterprise digital delivery team, developing and enhancing business-critical applications within a complex technology environment.


This role is suited to a mid-to-senior developer who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle—from analysing business requirements and technical designs through to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing application support. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and delivery teams to build scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions using modern web, backend, API, database, and cloud technologies.


Contract Summary

  • Rate: $528.96 – $903.00 per day
  • Contract Length: ASAP – 30 June 2027
  • Work Model: Hybrid (currently 50% office attendance – Wednesday, Thursday, and every second Monday)
  • Location: Parramatta, NSW


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and software solutions.
  • Interpret functional specifications, technical designs, and process flows.
  • Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Modify and enhance existing applications to support evolving business needs.
  • Develop and maintain frontend, backend, API, and database components.
  • Perform unit testing, system testing, and support defect resolution activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across development and production environments.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the SDLC.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, testers, and delivery teams.
  • Contribute to solution design, technical improvements, and DevOps practices.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability.


Skills & Experience

  • 5–7 years' commercial experience in software development.
  • Strong experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Strong frontend development experience using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular (AngularJS desirable).
  • Experience with UI frameworks including Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap.
  • Strong backend development experience using Node.js, Java, or PHP (Python desirable).
  • Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Maven, Camel, Jetty, or Drupal.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs (SOAP Web Services desirable).
  • Strong SQL database experience with MySQL and/or Oracle.
  • Exposure to MongoDB and Redis highly regarded.
  • Experience working with cloud and DevOps technologies including AWS, Docker, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
  • Strong understanding of application design, system integration, and technical architecture.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing technical documentation and supporting software testing activities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within Agile delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
