Senior Frontend Software Engineer (React / TypeScript)

Location: Bristol, UK

Role Summary

We are seeking Senior Frontend Software Engineers to work within cross‑functional feature teams delivering front‑end led capabilities for the Data Marketplace. The role focuses on building accessible, high‑quality, and well‑tested user interfaces on a cloud‑native platform running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities include:

* End‑to‑end software engineering (design, build, test, release)

* Strong ownership of frontend delivery quality and technical direction

* Coaching and supporting other team members within the feature team

* Work with PO, Design, and business stakeholders to understand and refine features

* Participation in agile ceremonies, code reviews and technical communities

* Active application custodianship, including incident support and root-cause analysis

Primary focus on experienced Frontend Software Engineers, with strong React expertise.

Proven experience building accessible, testable, scalable user interfaces.

Strong test-first mindset (TDD) and confidence writing automated tests.

Skills Required:

Hands-on experience with:

* React, JavaScript/TypeScript

* JestJS and modern frontend testing practices

* Accessibility standards (WCAG) and tooling (axe-core)

Desirable (bonus) skills:

* Backend development with Java / Quarkus

* Working with REST APIs and PostgreSQL

* DevOps exposure across CI/CD pipelines, containers and Kubernetes
