The Company

Storm2's client is a fintech rebuilding core retirement products for today's workforce, going after a trillion-dollar industry that hasn't meaningfully changed in decades. The founding team has senior pedigree from some of the best-known names in tech and finance, and the business is backed by some of the most recognised names in early-stage venture. Based in Tribeca, they're a lean, high-performance team building the products, platforms, and credit marketplace behind a new retirement system.

The Role

Retirement is one of the last major financial categories still running on infrastructure built for a different generation. This team is rebuilding it, and AI sits at the centre of how they're doing it, not bolted on afterwards.

You'd be shipping full-stack AI projects end-to-end, which means this isn't a role where you sit purely in a model layer or purely in product. You're building the AI infrastructure itself: harness fine-tuning, evaluation, the systems that let the team ship and trust AI-driven features fast. You'll also be shaping the engineering processes that let those products scale, which matters a lot at this stage because the standards you set now are the standards the team inherits.

The team is small and genuinely cross-functional, so the expectation is that you move across the stack as the problem demands it rather than staying in a lane. They care more about judgement and pace than a specific years-of-experience number, which is why they're open to candidates from 3+ years if the depth is there.

What you'll be working on:

• Shipping full-stack AI projects end-to-end, from infrastructure through to user-facing product
• Building components for AI infrastructure, including harness fine-tuning and evaluation
• Developing and improving engineering processes and systems to scale AI products
• Working across the stack as the team and product evolve

What you'll bring:

• Proficiency in full-stack development, with a strong understanding of web frameworks, backend systems, and cloud infrastructure
• Strong ability in one of: Kotlin, Swift, Rust, Java, Go, C/C++, Python, Ruby, or TypeScript
• A background from a top-tier company or university, 3+ years of experience
• Ideally, time in fintech or early-stage tech, and experience building or deploying agentic systems in user-facing applications
