Java Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer III – Java/Big Data/AWS to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, big data, and AWS and a proven ability to design, deliver, and maintain secure, stable, and scalable production systems across multiple technical domains.

Responsibilities:

• Execute software design, development, and troubleshooting to build solutions and resolve complex technical problems.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that integrate with upstream and downstream systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure code aligns with design constraints.
• Gather, analyze, and visualize large data sets to drive continuous improvement of applications and systems.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to engineering communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.
• Support a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software development experience with enterprise applications.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs with the ability to write secure, high-quality code.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments using modern programming and database querying languages.
• Ability to analyze large, diverse data sets to inform secure, stable application development decisions.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies including CI/CD, resiliency, and security practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as React.js or Angular.
• Exposure to AWS services including EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, and Lambda.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Ab Initio, ETL, Hadoop, or Spark.
