• Back End: Java 21+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka/Redpanda, gRPC, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Unit/Integration Testing

Position Purpose: Java back-end engineer working within EIT Dev Technology Internal Hub department.

Primary duties will include (not limited to):

• Contribute to all phases of the develo pment life cycle working within Agile methodology.
• Write well designed, testable and efficient code.
• Ensure designs follow specifications and follow review procedures.
• Collaborate and take instruction from peer engineers to complete tasks.
• Document all components/methodologies as required.

To land this role you will need :

• Advanced English speaking/writing.
• 2+ years of Java experience in a professional environment.
• 2+ years of relational database experience (SQL).
• Great understanding of REST APIs, micro-services, databases, unit testing, version control (Git) and Agile methodology.
• Ability to work positively in a team environment.
• Professionalism in handling constructive feedback and learn/adapt.
• Sound verbal/written communication abilities.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Sense of urgency.
• Honesty, curiosity, and tenacity.
• Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail.

• Good knowledge/experience in messaging platforms (Kafka, RedPanda)
• Good knowledge/experience in DevOps and CI/CD.

• University qualification in Computer Science / Software Engineering or similar discipline OR a great GitHub portfolio showcasing your most recent projects.

• Hybrid – 4 days in office ( ( Office location: Avenida Carrera 9A - Avenida Carrera 9A # 115-06/30 Edificio Torre Tierrafirme Bogotá, 110111 Colombia).
