Job Purpose and Impact
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will implement environmental health and safety management programs. This role focuses on adhering to corporate standards and local regulations, supporting risk prevention, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance across operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess and identify Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) risks, regulatory requirements, and potential impacts on stakeholders, ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented and maintained.
- Implement and maintain EHS programs in compliance with applicable government regulations, ISO standards, and corporate policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring employees and contractors consistently adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
- Conduct EHS training, induction, and awareness programs while maintaining proper documentation and supporting competency development initiatives.
- Lead EHS-related activities, including incident management, emergency response planning, evacuation drills, and routine workplace safety inspections.
- Collect, analyze, and report EHS performance data: including incidents, near misses, inspections, and leading and lagging indicators-to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, documentation, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Support EHS audits, inspections, and certification programs, and facilitate EHS committee meetings (e.g., P2K3L), ensuring effective documentation and follow-up actions.
- Oversee contractor safety management activities, including contractor prequalification, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA/PJHA) review, certification verification, and monitoring compliance with EHS KPIs.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), provide technical guidance and coaching, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance across projects and operational activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Candidates with a degree in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) or a relevant technical discipline, along with direct experience in a similar operating environment, are preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) roles.
- Strong knowledge of EHS principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia and English, with strong written, reading, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple departments and organizational levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Certified Ahli K3 Umum (AK3U) is preferred and will be considered an added advantage.
