Senior Director, Global Marketing Procurement
Indexed description
We're looking for a senior media procurement leader to own and shape more than $1B in North American media spend. This is a high-impact role for a commercial operator who deeply understands the media ecosystem - agencies, platforms, digital, data, measurement, and the economics behind it all.
As Senior Director, Global Marketing Procurement (North America), you'll lead strategic sourcing and negotiations across media agencies and platforms, ensuring partnerships deliver measurable business value, transparency, and performance. You'll work closely with marketing, finance, legal, operations, and external partners to drive smarter investments and stronger outcomes.
This individual contributor role is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Media Procurement Leadership
- Lead sourcing strategies and negotiations for $1B+ in North American media spend.
- Structure and negotiate complex agency and platform agreements, including fees, incentives, performance guarantees, and commercial terms.
- Leverage analytics, benchmarking, and market intelligence to optimize value, ROI, and efficiency.
- Drive innovative sourcing approaches and scalable commercial best practices.
Agency & Partner Management
- Manage senior relationships with media agencies, digital platforms, and media suppliers.
- Evaluate agency planning and buying effectiveness through cost, reach, ROI, transparency, and delivery metrics.
- Ensure supplier performance aligns with business and financial objectives.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner across marketing, legal, finance, operations, and global procurement teams to align media investments with enterprise goals.
- Support transformation initiatives and evolving commercial models across the media ecosystem.
- Serve as a strong commercial counterbalance and trusted advisor to marketing stakeholders.
Market Intelligence & Business Impact
- Monitor media, technology, and marketplace trends to identify opportunities, mitigate risk, and improve business outcomes.
- Build scalable frameworks for cost modeling, measurement, governance, and performance management.
What This Role Is
- A hands-on, deal-owning media procurement leadership role with direct accountability for $1B+ in media spend.
- Deeply commercial, focused on negotiations, value realization, transparency, and financial performance.
- An individual contributor role requiring strong personal leadership, influencing skills, and execution.
What This Role Is Not
- A media strategy, planning, or brand marketing role.
- A purely consultative procurement or governance role.
- A fit for candidates without direct commercial experience negotiating media agency or platform agreements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with deep expertise in the North American media marketplace.
- Direct, hands-on experience negotiating and managing media agency and platform contracts is required.
- Strong understanding of media agencies, digital media, eCommerce, planning and optimization, data, tools, and measurement.
- Proven success managing large-scale commercial portfolios and complex negotiations.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capability.
