About the Role
We are looking for a Commercial Finance Partner - Projects in Sydney (AU) t o join our Project Execution team. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Tender Teams, and Finance stakeholders to support the successful delivery of customer projects.
You will provide financial and commercial support across a portfolio of projects, helping teams monitor performance, manage risks, track financial outcomes, and make informed business decisions.
The role will primarily support projects across our Power Systems and Secure Power business units, partnering with stakeholders to drive strong commercial and financial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Commercial Support
- Partner with Project Managers and project teams to support the financial and commercial performance of customer projects.
- Support tender activities by reviewing financial assumptions, project budgets, and commercial risks for new opportunities.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost-to-complete reviews while monitoring revenue, margin, cash flow, and profitability to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare financial and operational reporting, analyse project performance, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, planning, and KPI tracking across the project portfolio
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers, Tender Leaders, Finance teams, and other business stakeholders to support project delivery.
- Collaborate with Legal, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Contract Management, and other support functions as required.
- Contribute to project and business review meetings by providing financial insights and analysis.
Governance & Compliance
- Support project governance, risk reviews, and compliance activities across the project portfolio.
- Provide financial insights to management while ensuring adherence to internal controls, company policies, and IFRS 15 requirements.
About You
Experience
- 5+ years' experience in Project Finance, Commercial Finance, Project Accounting, Project Controls, or a similar project-based environment.
- Experience supporting customer projects within engineering, infrastructure, industrial, technology, or related industries.
- Exposure to project budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and commercial performance monitoring.
- Understanding of contract and project risk considerations is advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate project performance and business outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and present insights clearly.
- Advanced Excel and reporting tool skills (Power BI, Tableau or similar), with knowledge of IFRS 15 and project financial reporting principles; able to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA, or progress towards a professional qualification is desirable but not essential.
