Software Engineer II (Embedded)
Overview
Exciting opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Guidance & Navigation Division in Pine Brook, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of embedded control software to be used within Kearfott’s next generation of guidance and navigation products.
This includes participation in requirements definition, software design and implementation, peer review, software test and validation, and generation of supporting documentation.
Required Skills
Minimum required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong development skills with C/C++ programming languages.
- 2+ years of embedded or control systems programming.
- Experience with debugging strategies for embedded systems including emulators and logic analyzers.
- Ability to collaborate with a team of engineers and support staff in a laboratory setting.
- Strong engineering writing and documentation skills.
- Must be a US Citizen
- All work to be performed on site in our Pine Brook, NJ facilities.
- Experience with additional programming languages such as Python. Ada knowledge a plus.
- Experience with inertial navigation concepts, including GPS aided navigation.
- Knowledge of Model based software development using tools such as SCADE, Simulink, MATLAB.
- Ability to interpret electronics schematics.
- Experience with DO-178C software certification process.
- Experience with the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE).
