Optimisation Software Engineer - Mine Planning Systems - Hybrid 3 days pw in office - 12 Month Contract - Mining

$900 - $1000pd inclusive of super

Perth (Non Negotiable)


I am exclusively partnered with a leading consultancy who are looking for a Optimisation Software Engineer to start immediately on an initial 12 month contract with high possibility of extension.


You will be building solver integrations and optimisation models for streamlining mine planning and scheduling


Looking for someone to start immediately, interviews will be one stage and begin next week with the end client


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Build production-ready optimisation capabilities supporting mine planning and scheduling operations.
  • Develop solver integrations and optimisation models capable of handling large-scale planning scenarios.
  • Design desktop application features supporting scenario analysis and operational decision-making.
  • Write APIs and data integrations connecting optimisation platforms with enterprise systems.
  • Automate solutions for execution and batch processing of optimisation workflows.
  • Streamline performance improvements, regression-tested releases, and technical documentation.


What You Bring:

  • Strong experience in C#, .net software development, particularly high-performance or systems-level applications.
  • Familiarity with AMPL or equivalent optimisation modelling frameworks.
  • Experience working with mathematical optimisation, linear programming, or mixed integer programming solutions.
  • Experience building and supporting desktop applications with rich user workflows.
  • Experience integrating external APIs, libraries, and commercial solvers.
  • Exposure to mining optimisation, scheduling, supply chain optimisation, or operational planning systems.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets, performance tuning, and optimisation model scalability.
  • Understanding of cloud-enabled execution patterns, distributed processing, and automation frameworks.
