Indexed description

A Frontend Engineer at Gaming1 maximizes customer and business value through high-quality, user-centric product experiences.

Engineers operate within small, autonomous product engineering teams in a high-traffic, regulated environment, where decisions directly impact customer trust, conversion, time-to-market and long-term engagement.

While frontend engineering is the primary expertise, Gaming1 teams are intentionally small and product-oriented. As a result, Engineers are expected to be wide in their skillset, flexible in scope, and comfortable collaborating across disciplines. Frontend work is not always a neatly isolated responsibility — success comes from team ownership and shared accountability, not role silos.

This role is part of a broader Product Engineering culture focused on autonomy, short feedback loops, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

YOUR ROLE

  • As a Frontend Engineer, your mission is to design, build, and evolve solutions that solve real customer problems and support business outcomes.
  • You do this by:
  • Owning solutions across their lifecycle — from problem understanding and implementation to release, monitoring, and iterative improvement,
  • Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver meaningful outcomes,
  • Applying strong craftsmanship while keeping a product and customer-first mindset,
  • Continuously improving codebases, practices, tooling, and ways of working.
  • Your autonomy, scope, and influence are driven by your career ladder level, not by the job title alone.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Experience as a Frontend Engineer in product-oriented environments, ideally at scale and/or in regulated contexts
  • Strong fundamentals in TypeScript and modern JavaScript, with advanced experience in React and component-based architectures
  • Proven ability to build maintainable, performant and accessible user interfaces
  • Solid experience with state management and data fetching (e.g. Redux Toolkit / RTK Query)
  • Strong testing mindset, with hands-on experience in unit and integration testing (Jest/Vitest, RTL) and UI documentation (Storybook)
  • Product- and user-minded, able to translate product goals into clear, intuitive experiences
  • Comfortable working in small, autonomous, cross-functional teams, in close collaboration with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers
  • Strong sense of ownership, quality and continuous improvement, from design to production
