In Bulgaria we are actively seeking a Senior Java Engineer professional to strengthen our team.

The role involves designing and maintaining systems that process large volumes of events in real time, with strict performance and reliability requirements. The engineer is expected to have deep knowledge of Java internals, concurrency, memory management, and networking, and to contribute to the architecture of distributed, low-latency platforms.

This is you

• 10+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Extensive experience building performance-critical, low-latency systems.
• Deep understanding of:
• Java concurrency
• Java Memory Model (JMM)
• Lock-free and non-blocking programming
• JVM internals and garbage collection tuning
• Strong knowledge of:
• Java NIO
• ByteBuffers
• High-performance networking (Netty or similar)
• Event-driven architectures
• Distributed systems
• Experience working in financial, trading, market data, or similar real-time environments.
• Strong profiling and performance optimization skills.
• Comfortable working close to the hardware and optimizing CPU, memory, and network utilization.

• Develop low-latency backend services capable of processing millions of events efficiently.
• Build concurrent, lock-free components for highly scalable multi-threaded applications.
• Optimize JVM performance, memory allocation, and garbage collection to achieve predictable latency.
• Design high-performance networking layers using technologies such as Netty and Java NIO.
• Implement efficient binary messaging and serialization using technologies such as SBE.
• Build resilient, high-availability distributed systems.
• Analyze bottlenecks through profiling, benchmarking, and load testing.
• Collaborate with architects to design scalable event-driven platforms.
• Perform code reviews and promote best practices for performance-oriented software engineering.
• Continuously improve system throughput, latency, and resource utilization.
