AI Application Builder / Codex Product Developer
Indexed description
Role Summary
We are looking for a fast, practical, and product-minded software builder who can help us rapidly develop internal business applications using AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub, and modern low-code/no-code or full-code frameworks.
This role is ideal for someone with some real software or product development experience, ideally around 2–5 years, who is passionate about building useful software products quickly. The person does not need to be the most senior programmer, but they must have enough technical ability, initiative, and product sense to take a business problem, understand the user need, and quickly turn it into a working application or prototype.
We are not looking for someone who needs step-by-step instructions for every task. We need someone who can move fast, think independently, ask good questions, use AI tools effectively, and get applications built, tested, improved, and deployed.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Internal Business Applications:
- Use AI-Assisted Development Tools:
The candidate should be comfortable using AI as a development partner, not just as a search engine.
- Understand Business Problems and Translate Them into Software:
The person must be able to think like a product builder:
- What is the user trying to achieve?
- What is the simplest useful version of the app?
- What data is needed?
- What workflow should be automated?
- What controls or checks are required?
- How do we make the app easy to use?
- Rapid Prototyping and Iteration:
- Connect Apps to Business Data:
Experience with tools such as Supabase, Firebase, PostgreSQL, Airtable, Google Sheets, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, SAP exports, Shopify, or similar systems would be helpful.
- Testing, Troubleshooting, and Deployment:
Required Skills And Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- Around 2–5 years of experience in software development, product development, business systems, or application building.
- Some coding experience, preferably with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, React, Next.js, or similar modern development tools.
- Experience building web applications, dashboards, internal tools, automations, or workflow systems.
- Strong interest in AI-assisted software development using tools such as Codex, ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into practical application features.
- Good problem-solving ability and willingness to learn quickly.
- Strong execution mindset: able to get things done without excessive supervision.
- Ability to work quickly, iterate, and improve based on feedback.
- Good communication skills and ability to explain technical matters simply to non-technical users.
- Attention to detail when testing applications and handling business data.
- Experience with Codex, Cursor, Replit, Lovable, Bolt, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or other AI coding tools.
- Experience with Supabase, Firebase, PostgreSQL, or other databases.
- Experience with API integrations.
- Experience with dashboards, reporting tools, or business intelligence systems.
- Experience with ERP, accounting, manufacturing, e-commerce, or operational systems.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Workspace, Xero, Shopify, or SAP Business One.
- Understanding of product management, UX, workflow design, or process improvement.
- Experience deploying applications using platforms such as Netlify, Vercel, Railway, Render, or similar.
- Fast, dynamic, and action-oriented.
- Curious and passionate about building software products.
- Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter.
- Independent enough to move projects forward without constant direction.
- Practical and commercially minded.
- Able to understand real business problems, not just write code.
- Willing to test, improve, and fix issues quickly.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to create structure from rough ideas.
- Focused on delivering working solutions, not just discussing possibilities.
- Take a rough business problem and turn it into a working prototype quickly.
- Build useful internal applications that reduce manual work, improve visibility, or prevent errors.
- Use AI tools effectively to speed up development.
- Improve applications based on user feedback.
- Work with business teams to understand their needs.
- Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, accuracy, reporting, or workflow speed.
- Build applications that are practical, usable, and maintainable.
- A very junior developer who needs constant step-by-step guidance.
- Someone who only follows instructions but cannot think through the product or user need.
- Someone who is slow, overly theoretical, or focused on perfect architecture before delivering value.
- Someone who only knows how to prompt AI but cannot understand or troubleshoot code.
- Someone who builds demos but cannot turn them into usable business tools.
- A daily profitability dashboard using financial and operational data.
- A finance month-end close workflow tracker.
- A quality complaint investigation and response tool.
- A marketing task, KPI, and campaign management system.
- A payment approval tracking system.
- An internal AI knowledge-base connected to company documents.
- A short summary of their software/product development experience.
- Examples of applications, dashboards, tools, automations, or prototypes they have built.
- Details of any AI-assisted development tools they have used.
- A brief explanation of how they would approach building internal business applications quickly.
- Links to GitHub, portfolio, deployed apps, or relevant project examples where available.
