Full Stack Engineer
Indexed description
CO-Ver is a technology startup solving a problem that has cost owners and developers millions: unverified change orders. We combine AI tools with human estimators to verify that every change order our clients receive is legitimate, documented and fairly priced. One focused mission. We are based in Jacksonville, FL and growing.
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, funded startup on the ground floor. Our team is small, sharp and passionate about what we're building, and we're looking for impact makers and self-starters.
As one of the first group of full-time engineers on the team, you won't be handed a backlog and told to execute. You'll work across the full stack: React, TypeScript and Convex, shipping features that are real and consequential. This is not a narrowly scoped role. You'll touch UI, backend logic, data modeling and AI integration, often within the same feature.
If doing meaningful, interesting work early and growing fast is what you're after, this is the right opportunity for you.
- Build real product features end-to-end: the change order submission flow, bid comparison views, stakeholder routing, document upload and parsing, RFI workflows, approval dashboards and the persona portals.
- Work with reactive, real-time data in ways that matter to the product: when a change order is approved, financial totals cascade across line items, contracts and projects instantly.
- Contribute to breakthrough AI integrations: prompt crafting, structured output and working directly with APIs from Anthropic and OpenAI.
- Write solid code that safely and helps maintain an audit trail built for legal defensibility and financial accountability.
- Participate in code reviews, roadmap planning and technical design discussions. On a team this size, engineering has a real voice in what gets built and how.
Required:
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Solid TypeScript fundamentals: you write type-safe code by instinct, not by workaround
- React 19 experience with hooks and component composition; Next.js a plus
- A good grasp of data modeling: thinking about indexes, query patterns and schema design
- Curiosity about AI: you've shipped with LLM APIs or are eager to build with them. You’re also comfortable working with agents and skills to accelerate your work.
- Self-directed and communicative: you ask good questions, communicate often and early and drive your own work forward
Nice to have:
- Convex, Clerk or Tailwind experience. Relational DB experience is fine, too
- Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS and why org-scoped data isolation matters
- Interest in the construction or real estate industry
- Experience with document-heavy workflows: PDF handling, form extraction and file pipelines
Industry fluency is a plus, but not required. We will teach you what a change order is. You bring the instincts.
- $125,000 – $155,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
- Remote-first with flexibility; occasional on-site visits to Jacksonville, FL
- Health, dental and vision benefits
- A startup environment where wins feel real, the team is close-knit and your work is visible in the company. This role grows as we do.
