Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager
Indexed description
Healthcare is broken at the first step: patients can't find the right care, understand what it costs, or access the medications they need. Mochi Health is fixing this.
We're building an AI-driven marketplace that makes healthcare discoverable—connecting patients to the right providers, transparent pharmacy pricing, and affordable medications. Over the past few years, we've grown rapidly by combining clinical expertise with technology that actually works for real people, not just hospital systems.
Our platform does what legacy healthcare can't: it gives patients transparent pricing before they pay, personalized medication management that follows them across providers, and long-term access to their own medical records. We're proving that healthcare can be more affordable, more human, and far more intuitive than what exists today.
Join a team that's rebuilding healthcare from the patient up. At Mochi Health, you'll work alongside people who value bold thinking, inclusive collaboration, and getting meaningful work into the world. If you want to do the most impactful work of your career, this is where to do it.

About The Role
Mochi Health is looking for a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to build our lifecycle program from the ground up. Right now, most of what happens after someone signs up is manual, one-off, or waiting on an engineer. You'll change that — designing and shipping the onboarding, cross-sell, upsell, and churn-prevention journeys that determine whether a patient starts treatment, stays on it, and discovers the rest of the care Mochi offers.
We're looking for someone who works AI-native. Not as a line on a résumé — as the actual way you operate. A lifecycle program that used to take a team of four is now buildable by one person who knows how to point Claude at the right problems: drafting and variant-testing copy, generating segment logic and templates, auditing journey conditions before they ship. We think the right person triples their output this way without working longer hours (seriously). We also want someone who knows exactly where this breaks, because in healthcare messaging the cost of a confidently wrong sentence is not a lower click rate.
This is a builder's role, not a maintainer's. You'll set the strategy and then go execute it: journeys, segments, triggers, copy, and the Customer.io foundation underneath all of it. You'll partner closely with our growth engineering team (5 people!) on instrumentation, and you'll know you've succeeded when marketing can launch a sharply targeted campaign six months from now without filing a single engineering ticket.
This role reports to the VP of Growth
What You'll Do
- Lifecycle journeys, built from scratch — Onboarding and activation, cross-sell and upsell across Mochi's treatment categories, win-back, and churn prevention. You'll map the journeys, define the triggers, write the copy, build the flows, and own the results.
- Multi-channel orchestration — Email, mobile push, and on-site/in-app banners, coordinated so a patient gets one coherent experience instead of three teams' worth of messages. You'll set the contact strategy and frequency rules that keep it that way.
- The Customer.io foundation — Own our lifecycle stack end to end. Scope the work, write the requirements, and sit shoulder-to-shoulder with our growth engineer to get events, attributes, and integrations wired up correctly the first time.
- Taxonomy and segmentation — Define the event, attribute, and audience taxonomy that makes future campaigns self-serve. Documented, governed, and durable enough that a new marketer can build a segmented send on day three.
- AI leverage across the program — Build the workflows that let one person run a program this size: LLM-assisted copy production and variant generation, journey and segment logic drafted and stress-tested with AI, automated QA passes before launch. You'll define what gets automated, what stays human, and where the review gates sit.
- Measurement you'd defend in a room — Holdouts, incrementality reads, and cohort analysis. You'll report on activation, retention, and incremental revenue, not open rates.
- Conversion rate optimization (a smaller slice) — Bring ideas to the signup flow and key landing pages, and partner with growth and product to test them. Real but secondary — call it 10–15% of the job.
Who You Are
- 5+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing in a consumer or DTC environment, including at least one program you built from zero rather than inherited
- An AI-native workflow, in practice. You already use Claude or comparable tools as a default part of how you build — copy, segment logic, templates, QA, analysis — and you can walk us through specific things you've shipped faster because of it. This is a requirement, not a bonus. It's a new enough skill that we care about how you work today, not how many years you've been doing it
- Clear-eyed about the failure modes. You know what LLMs get wrong in this context: invented claims and specifics, tone drift away from brand, personalization that reads as surveillance, logic that looks right and isn't. You have opinions about where human review is non-negotiable
- Deep hands-on experience with Customer.io. (Braze, Iterable, or Klaviyo depth counts if you can make the case for how fast you'll ramp.) You've configured the workspace, not just clicked "send"
- Technical fluency — events, webhooks, APIs, liquid templating, and data models. You can spec what you need from engineering, unblock yourself, and QA the result
- Comfort pulling your own data in SQL, or a demonstrated equivalent
- Real experience with push and in-app messaging, not just email
- Strong consumer copy instincts and a high bar for what goes out the door
- A track record against retention, LTV, or incremental revenue — with a clean read on what you actually caused
- A point of view and the willingness to build it yourself. You'll be the most senior lifecycle person here, which means you're setting the strategy and also the one in the tool making it real
- Judgment about messaging people on something personal. You don't need to have worked in healthcare — you do need to understand why tone, cadence, and restraint matter more here than in most categories, and to learn the constraints fast
- Experience building internal tooling or agents to automate marketing work
- Subscription or membership businesses, where retention is the whole game
- Interest in growing this into a team — the scope is here if you build it
- First 30 days — You've audited every message we send today, found the gaps, and come back with a prioritized journey roadmap and a point of view on what to kill.
- First 90 days — Onboarding and churn-prevention journeys are live across email and push. The Customer.io taxonomy is defined, the instrumentation work is scoped with our growth engineer, and your AI-assisted production workflow is documented well enough that someone else could follow it.
- First 6 months — The full journey map is live across all three channels, marketing can build and send without engineering, and you can show measurable lift on activation and retention with a read you'd defend.
We move quickly and respect your time.
- Application review — Resume, a short note on a lifecycle program you built from scratch and what it moved, and one example of a workflow you've automated with AI
- Recruiter screen — 30 minutes on your background
- Hiring manager conversation — Your approach to journey design, segmentation, and measurement
- Working session — Walk us through the lifecycle program you'd build for Mochi, and how you'd build it faster than the headcount suggests
- Final conversations — Growth and engineering partners
