We provide a seamless lobby kiosk app that handles check-ins, badge printing, and ID capture, alongside a powerful companion app that allows hosts to manage visitors, deliveries, and emergency evacuations.

About the Role

This role is primarily mobile-focused. You will spend the majority of your time in React Native—building features, integrating hardware (like Bluetooth printers, cameras, and barcode scanners), and shipping updates to both the App Store and Google Play. While mobile is the core of this job, you will occasionally contribute to our React web applications to support the broader ecosystem.

You will own the mobile experience, solving complex problems related to offline resilience, hardware connectivity, and smooth, animated UIs.

What You’ll Do

• Own the Kiosk App: Drive the development of our React Native (0.75) kiosk experience, integrating Bluetooth badge printing (Brother printers via BLE), camera-based ID scanning, QR code reading, signature capture, and offline-first resilience.

• Build the Companion App: Develop features for our mobile companion app (React Native 0.78), implementing push notifications, map integrations, complex animations, and deep linking.

• Native Bridging & Integrations: Work with native modules for camera permissions, keychain storage, device information, and in-app browsers for SSO/SAML authentication flows.

• Manage Releases & Observability: Handle OTA deployments via CodePush and app store releases using Fastlane. Integrate and monitor Middleware.io APM for distributed tracing, session recording, and crash reporting.

• Platform-Specific Optimization: Manage platform-specific configurations across iOS and Android using CocoaPods, Gradle, Hermes engine, and ProGuard.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience shipping and maintaining React Native applications on both the App Store and Google Play.

• Deep expertise with React Navigation, gesture handling, and native screen transitions.

• Hands-on experience working with native device APIs (cameras, permissions, local storage, push notifications).

• Strong understanding of offline-first patterns (network reachability, request queuing, local caching).

• Experience integrating Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripherals, specifically pairing printers or similar hardware in React Native.

• Comfort navigating iOS and Android build tooling (Xcode, CocoaPods, Gradle, Hermes).

• Solid understanding of REST API integration, token refresh flows, and error handling.

• A strong testing mindset using Jest and React Testing Library.

• Familiarity with React 18+ and TypeScript to comfortably navigate our web codebase.

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Points)

• Experience with native module development or bridging (Objective-C/Swift, Kotlin/Java).

• Familiarity with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx, Lerna) or micro-frontend architectures (Webpack Module Federation).

• Prior experience building data-heavy UIs (ag-Grid, Recharts, or similar).

• Knowledge of internationalization (i18next).

• Familiarity with backend APIs (Spring Boot, Kafka) or general database concepts.
