Job Title: Android Developer (Junior / Mid / Advanced / Expert)

Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Android Developers to join our automotive software engineering team in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing Android applications, services, and middleware for automotive platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Depending on experience, candidates will be considered for Junior, Mid-Level, Advanced, or Expert positions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain Android applications for automotive platforms.
Design, implement, and maintain Android services and middleware components.
Develop low-level software, custom vendor-specific middleware services, and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) components.
Work with automotive communication protocols such as CAN and Ethernet (SOME/IP).
Develop and maintain AIDL interfaces for Android components.
Perform software integration, debugging, and validation on hardware benches.
Analyze system logs, troubleshoot software issues, and support defect resolution.
Utilize Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, and CAPL for automotive network analysis and testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues and meet project milestones.
Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups.
Follow ASPICE processes and automotive software development best practices.
Required Skills
Strong experience with Android application development
Proficiency in Kotlin and Java
Experience with Android Services, AIDL, and Android architecture
Automotive ECU software development experience
Hands-on experience with CAN communication
Experience debugging software on hardware benches
Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
