Your mission
As a Medior Backend Engineer (with DevOps focus), you will work on complex, enterprise-grade cloud solutions in a Business-to-Business environment. You will be part of a cross-functional product team, contributing to both development and operational aspects. Your role will bridge backend engineering and DevOps practices, ensuring that services are not only well-built but also reliably operated.
A key part of your role will be contributing to IncaMail, our secure digital delivery platform, where you will help design, build, and operate backend services that ensure secure and reliable communication.
You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and external stakeholders to design, build, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support scalable cloud and on-prem systems
- Take part in architectural discussions, prototyping, and evaluating technical feasibility
- Optimize, test, and continuously improve system performance and reliability
- Deploy, monitor, and operate services in cloud and on-prem environments
- Take ownership of services across their full lifecycle (development to production operations)
- Troubleshoot production issues across the application and infrastructure layers
- Manage and maintain Linux-based systems (primarily RHEL environments)
- Work with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Grafana, Splunk) to ensure system health
- Support CI/CD processes and improve delivery pipelines
- Apply security best practices in both development and operations
- 3+ years of experience working on mid or large sized services
- Strong programming skills in JavaEE
- Experience with REST APIs and distributed systems
- Solid understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Deep knowledge of Linux system administration
- Understanding of cloud-based systems and infrastructure concepts
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues independently
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work across development and DevOps domains
- Good communication skills in English
- Experience with email systems, mail servers, or related integrations
- Experience with .NET 8 or modern backend frameworks
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible or similar)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, Splunk)
- Knowledge of secrets management solutions (e.g. HashiCorp Vault)
- Frontend development experience (e.g. NextJS or similar frameworks)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices
