馃 The role
As a Software/Product Engineer at Tandem, you鈥檒l be at the heart of our product. You鈥檒l be working on everything from our mobile apps to our backend services, turning ideas into reality. This isn鈥檛 just about writing code; it鈥檚 about taking ownership of features from start to finish. You鈥檒l be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from brainstorming and design to deployment and iteration. We want someone who is passionate about creating amazing user experiences and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty in a fast-paced startup environment.
馃捈 What you鈥檒l Do
- Working across our tech stack to build new features for our iOS, Android, and web apps.
- Collaborating with the team to design and implement new product features.
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Rust for our backend services.
- Building and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines to ensure we can ship features quickly and reliably.
- Taking part in product discussions and bringing your own ideas to the table.
- Being a key player in a small, tight-knit team of awesome people.
You Have Experience With Our Tech Stack. You Don't Need To Be An Expert In Everything, But You Should Be Comfortable With Some Of The Following
- Frontend: React (NextJS), iOS (SwiftUI), Android (Jetpack Compose)
- Backend: Rust, Tokio, Axum, gRPC, Tonic
- Databases: ScyllaDB, DragonflyDB, AWS S3
- A product-minded engineer who cares about the user experience.
- Someone who is excited about working in a startup environment and is happy to wear multiple hats.
- A great communicator and team player.
- Someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and bring new ideas to the table.
- Experience with early-stage consumer apps, marketplaces, or social platforms
- Familiarity with the UK student/nightlife scene
- Prior startup, dating, or lifestyle brand experience
- Experience building and discarding features based on user feedback
- Strong opinions on tech, product, and user experience
- Confident, but happy to be challenged and proven wrong
