Core Responsibilities
- Ability to concept big ideas and bring them to life through excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ensure brand identity, typography, photography, color, graphics are maintained.
- Create low-fidelity and high-fidelity designs for user testing, development, and delivery to market.
- Develop site concepts, interface designs, and architecture of websites – prioritizing the best possible end-user experience.
- Actively participate in agile scrum teams, building and refining the backlog and appropriately planning tasks to meet client timelines.
- Oversee the overall website functionality and web design, ensuring an excellent end-user experience and iterating in accordance with user testing.
- Maintain web design guidelines, standards, and best practices.
- Interface collaboratively with clients through workshops and mockups to achieve the desired design and end-user experience.
- Continually educating yourself on the latest design/development techniques and best practices for implementation at the firm.
- 8+ years’ experience in Front-end development with a strong understanding of modern web technologies.
- Proficiency in JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3, with experience in frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular.
- Experience with npm, yarn, or other package managers for managing project dependencies.
- Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress and Drupal.
- Familiarity with build tools like Webpack, Vite, or Parcel.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools for creating mockups and prototypes.
- Ability to re-create and implement layout designs in a component-based architecture using frameworks or libraries.
- Experience with Git version control and collaborating in a GitHub/GitLab workflow.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL integration in front-end projects.
- Familiarity with web accessibility (WCAG) standards and responsive design principles.
- Experience in testing frameworks/tools like Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience with monitoring and reporting tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Tag Manager for performance tracking.
- Preferred experience working on government sites using the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and maintaining compliance with Section 508 standards.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with clients through workshops, mockups, and prototyping sessions.
- A self-motivated learner, staying up-to-date with advancements in front-end development technologies and practices.
