As a SYNC Test Engineer the candidate will be involved in full lifecycle of embedded software development on Ford SYNC system. Test engineers will be responsible for testing and validating the next generation application frameworks which are to provide various common services and APIs for the UI applications and services using various testing frameworks which will involve creating scripts and test apps using Python, C++, Java, Kotlin.
What You'll Do...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Create and review plans to test and verify the functionality of APIs and Features.
- Develop and execute Python/C++/Java/Kotlin-based functional test scripts and apps.
- Create detailed defect reports when found.
- Participate in system design, documentation, and testing to deliver a best-in-class infotainment system.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Python/C++/Java/Kotlin software testing experience on embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms.
- Experience with functional testing and testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with Agile development processes.
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
- 5+ years of the aforementioned software testing experience.
- Experience with multi-process, multi-tasking, or multi-threaded applications.
- Experience testing software on embedded operating systems (Linux, Android, or QNX).
- Knowledge of automotive product development and quality processes (e.g., A-SPICE, CMMI, FMEA).
- Experience with communication protocols (e.g., CAN, TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, Wi-Fi).
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
- Experience generating test cases from requirements and automating tests using LLMs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
