Role: Sabre IX Developer

Duration: Permanent

Location: Brisbane

Reports To: Senior Project Manager


Role Summary

The Sabre IX Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of automation solutions on the Sabre Intelligence Exchange (IX) platform. Working closely with business stakeholders, testers, and technical teams, the role focuses on delivering scalable, reliable, and business-focused solutions that improve operational efficiency and support airline business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and assess the feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain business processes using CCL (Common Condition Language) on the Sabre IX platform.
  • Develop integrations with Sabre Web Services and third-party applications to support business operations.
  • Collaborate with testing teams to support test data creation, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for production incidents, defects, and service requests.
  • Deploy, maintain, and support applications running on Java, Unix/Linux, Oracle Database, MQ, and Tomcat environments.
  • Participate in change and release management activities, ensuring successful implementation of system enhancements.
  • Ensure solutions meet quality, performance, security, and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing enhancement of the Sabre IX ecosystem.
  • Manage incidents, requests, and project activities using Jira and ServiceNow.
  • Work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams and communicate risks, issues, and progress effectively.
  • Adhere to established service level agreements (SLAs), operational standards, and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Working knowledge of the airline industry, particularly Reservations and Departure Control Systems (DCS).
  • Strong Java development skills and understanding of enterprise application development.
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Oracle Database technologies.
  • Experience with web service technologies, including SOAP, WSDL, XSD, and API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively.
  • Experience working within Agile environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Desirable (optional) Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge on Sabre Intelligence Exchange (IX)
  • Experience with Sabre products, including Sabre Reservations, Sabre Native, Check-In, and Boarding systems.
  • Knowledge of Sabre Web Services and Sabre MQ.
  • Knowledge on AI tools such as GitHub CoPilot, MS CoPilot, ChatGPT, Codex etc.
  • Experience with airline automation platforms and integration technologies.
  • Understanding of operational support, monitoring, and production management processes.
