Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Back-End Developer for Storage, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements and create creative solutions to client problems, emphasizing fail-first, fail-fast methods and world-class quality.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Design and Develop Solutions: Design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements, utilizing programming languages such as Embedded C, C, Python, GoLang, and Java.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively to understand requirements and deliver solutions, using agile practices and DevOps tooling to ensure world-class quality and resiliency.
- Test and Deliver Offerings: Unit test and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products, such as IBM Enterprise Flash/Disk/Tape and IBM Cloud Storage services.
- Debug and Optimize: Debug and optimize solutions using kernel debuggers and user-mode programming, ensuring strategic imperatives including artificial intelligence and cloud.
- Support Strategic Imperatives: Support strategic imperatives, including artificial intelligence and cloud, by designing and developing software applications or device drivers for various operating systems.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Exposure to Agile Development: Experience working with agile practices and DevOps tooling to design, develop, and deliver software applications or device drivers.
- Programming Languages: Exposure to programming languages such as Embedded C, C, Python, GoLang, scripting languages (Ansible), C++, and Java.
- Storage Technologies: Experience working with storage technologies, including IBM Enterprise Flash/Disk/Tape, IBM FlashSystems, and IBM Cloud Storage services.
- Operating Systems: Exposure to operating systems such as Linux, Unix, AIX, and RTOS, including kernel-level programming and device driver development.
- Industry Protocols: Experience working with industry-standard protocols such as PCIe, NVMe, NVMeoF, Fibre Channel, and SCSI.
- Mainframe Storage Solutions: Knowledge of mainframe storage solutions is beneficial for this role, allowing for a deeper understanding of storage technologies and their applications.
- Database Technologies: Familiarity with database technologies, including IMS and DB2, can be advantageous in designing and developing software applications or device drivers.
- Storage Security Architecture: Experience with storage security architecture, such as TCG OPAL, can be valuable in ensuring the security and integrity of storage solutions.
