THE ROLE

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join Hectre and help shape how we build. You'll be hands-on across the full stack — comfortable moving between backend services, web applications, and mobile experiences.

You'll work closely with product and design to help guide direction, translate ambiguity into clear technical paths, and ship work that matters.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work closely with product and design to shape feature direction, provide technical input early, and ensure what gets built is the right thing
• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js/TypeScript on AWS
• Develop features across our web applications (Vue/React)
• Contribute to our mobile applications (Flutter, with occasional Swift/Kotlin for native integrations)
• Design and implement APIs, event-driven architectures, and serverless solutions
• Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate AI capabilities into production systems
• Leverage AI-powered development tools as a core part of your everyday workflow
• Champion engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required:

• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Solid AWS experience (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, CDK, or similar)
• Demonstrated ability to work across the full stack
• Mobile development experience — Flutter preferred; Swift or Kotlin a strong plus
• The ability to work closely with product and design — translating vision into technical direction
• Comfort driving delivery in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities
• A genuine working relationship with AI development tools — you use them daily, not occasionally, and you're curious about pushing that further

Bonus (or willingness to learn):

• Systems programming with Golang
• Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices
• Background in agtech, food production, or supply chain software
