The Realtor.com® Brand & Creative team is building the AI infrastructure that powers the next generation of consumer and client marketing. Not experimenting. Building — a full creative operating system that spans audience intelligence, brief development, concepting, production, and the performance feedback that makes every campaign smarter than the last.
The AI Creative Systems Director owns that system. You won't audit, strategize, or pilot. You'll be embedded from day one — building working AI systems on real deliverables, connecting the intelligence that feeds great briefs to the production that delivers great creative, and continuously raising what's possible across every role. If your instinct is to ship a working proof-of-concept on a real brief today rather than present a deck about what's theoretically possible next quarter — this is your role.
What You'll Do:
- Creative Intelligence Infrastructure The connective tissue of the whole system. Audience signals that inform briefs. AI-assisted brief development that accelerates concepting. Performance feedback that makes the next campaign smarter. You design and build the layer that connects every stage of the creative process — so the team makes better decisions faster, whether it's a brand campaign or high-volume paid social production.
- Video AI Systems Partner with the Motion Design team to identify where AI creates the greatest opportunity in video storytelling and production. Evaluate and standardize the tools that power it. Design the workflow that lets the team produce AI-assisted video at velocity — lo-fi concept video, short-form paid social variants, campaign cutdowns — without sacrificing creative quality. You don't direct the videos. You build the system that makes directing them faster, smarter, and more scalable.
- Brief, Research & Concepting Build the AI layer that makes strategy and concepting faster and sharper. Audience research synthesized by agents so strategists aren't spending days on desk research. Competitive signals surfaced automatically. Multi-model concepting workflows that give creative directors more territory to react to in less time. AI compresses the time between brief and conviction — you build the compression.
- Asset Production Systems Partner with designers to build the AI infrastructure that scales their work — image generation pipelines, Figma template automation, variant production, format scaling. A designer makes one strong concept decision. The system handles the rest. You build that system, maintain it, and evolve it as tools improve. Designers stay in the creative work. You handle the machinery.
- Tool Selection & Standardization Evaluate, select, and standardize the team's AI tool stack across every discipline — research, concepting, copy, image generation, video, design automation, workflow integration. Make the call on which tools the team uses and which get cut. Own the contracts, onboarding, and deprecation of tools that don't perform. Your job is to make sure no one on the team wastes time on a tool that isn't worth it — and that everyone has access and training on the ones that are.
- Innovation Lead Stay ahead. Continuously evaluate emerging AI capabilities and bring the ones that matter to the team before they have to ask. Run the experiments so the team doesn't have to. Know what's coming before it arrives and have a workflow ready when it does.
How We Work:
We balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration. For most roles, our employees work three or more days in our offices, where they have the opportunity to collaborate in-person, adding richness to our culture and knitting us closer together.
What You Bring:
- Builder first. You've shipped AI creative systems that teams actually run daily. When you see a problem your first move is to build something, not document something. You've permanently transformed at least one team's workflow and have the output to prove it.
- Creative team empathy. You've introduced AI to creative teams who were skeptical or hesitant. You know how to make AI feel like a superpower, not a threat. You have the patience and credibility to bring people along — and you understand that a designer's relationship to AI is about identity and commitment to craft.
- Deep video AI fluency. Not production ownership — systems fluency. You know the tools, you've evaluated them rigorously, and you've designed workflows that let motion designers and video editors move faster without giving up creative control. You know what makes a short-form video work in the first two seconds and you've built a system that produces variants at scale.
- Full tool stack knowledge. Research and synthesis, AI-assisted brief development, concepting and copy, image generation, video production, design automation, workflow integration. You don't need to learn these tools. You've used them on real work and you know which ones are worth recommending to a team.
- Systems thinking. You see the brief and the banner as part of the same loop. When you build something that works for one workflow you immediately see how it connects to the next. You design for the whole cycle, not just the layer in front of you.
- Creative judgment. You can tell the difference between AI output that's good enough and AI output that's good. You raise the bar, not just the volume. The systems you build produce work worth running — not just work that's fast and cheap to make.
- Performance creative literacy. You understand paid social creative requirements — hook structures, format specs, creative testing methodology. You've used performance data to make better creative decisions and you know how to build that feedback into a workflow.
- Professional Experience. 12+ years of professional experience, with a background working with AI-powered creative tools in one or more of the following areas for 2+ years: visual design, content generation, web development, or data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
What Success Looks Like:
- Every discipline on the team — strategy, design, copy, motion — operating with AI as the default, without having to figure it out themselves
- Creative intelligence infrastructure running — audience signals, brief development, concepting, production, and performance feedback all connected and improving
- AI video systems enabling the Motion Design team to produce at a pace and scale they couldn't achieve manually
- Measurable increase in creative output with flat headcount — the system does more, not the team works more
- Tool stack standardized, evaluated, and trusted across every discipline
- Any new hire inherits a running operation on day one
What This Role Is Not: This is not a production role. Not a replacement for designers, writers, or motion designers. Not a strategist who briefs others to build. Not an AI enthusiast who presents tool demos. Not a consultant who audits and recommends. This role exists to make every other role on the team better — by building the AI infrastructure they don't have time to build themselves.
