Partner Engineers work at the intersection of product, engineering, and relationship management to help our partners achieve comprehensive integrations that optimize all user experiences.

What You'll Do

As a Partner Engineer, you will be the technical liaison between Uber and our external partners. You will work closely with these partners to integrate our technologies, products, and services into their platforms, driving innovation and enhancing user experiences. You will leverage your technical expertise to understand partner requirements, provide technical guidance and support, and develop solutions to meet their needs. You will also be challenged to find ways to replicate these solutions at scale. This role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a passion for building strategic partnerships.

1. Technical Integration: Collaborate with strategic partners to integrate Uber's technologies, products, and services into their platforms, ensuring seamless compatibility and functionality.
2. Solution Development: Develop customized solutions and integrations to meet partner requirements, leveraging APIs, SDKs, and other tools.
3. Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to partners throughout the integration process, addressing any technical challenges or issues that arise. Uplevel and improve our scaled technical support solutions for maximum success.
4. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations, serving as the primary point of contact for technical discussions and support.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, product management, operations, and business development, to align on partner integration requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
6. Product Feedback: Gather feedback from partners on Uber's products and services, advocating for partner needs and driving product improvements and enhancements.
7. Documentation and Training: Create technical documentation, tutorials, and training materials to support partner integration efforts and facilitate knowledge transfer.
8. Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date on Uber's latest technologies, products, and industry trends, serving as a subject matter expert for both internal teams and external partners.
9. Process Improvement:
   1. Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas for optimization and efficiency gains.
   2. Propose and implement scalable solutions to streamline partner engagement, onboarding, and support processes.
   3. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements, making adjustments as necessary.
10. Scaling Operations:
    1. Develop strategies to scale partner engagement and support operations efficiently as the partner ecosystem grows.
    2. Implement scalable systems and tools to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operations.
    3. Collaborate with internal teams, such as product development and customer support, to ensure scalability and alignment with company objectives.

• Degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or meaningful industry experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in an external-facing technical role
• Intimate knowledge of APIs and adjacent technologies
• SQL and/or other data analytics skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical senior stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-driven approach
• Python programming skills focused on data analysis
• Fluency in Japanese and English, both written and verbal

• Fluency in Chinese, both written and verbal.
