As a Senior Android Engineer in our Off-street team, you will be part of a high-priority business unit focused on revolutionizing camera-based parking solutions and barrier integrations across North America. This is a critical growth area for Arrive, where you will help build the future of automatic license plate recognition and seamless entry/exit experiences. You will join a distributed, collaborative team of six engineers across Poland and the US, working closely with our Product Manager and Designer. Reporting to our US-based Tech Lead, you will be a key stakeholder in defining how we scale our mobility platform globally. This role offers the unique opportunity to act as a thought leader in a "lean forward" environment, where your technical decisions directly impact the livability of cities worldwide.
Your Everyday Life as a Software Engineer
- Collaborate actively with the Tech Lead and Product Manager to identify goals and define the end-to-end steps necessary for product delivery.
- Develop and maintain modular code for access-controlled parking within our native Android applications.
- Take full ownership of the development lifecycle, including writing and managing your own tickets and coordinating directly with backend teams.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables by writing robust Unit and UI tests to maintain platform stability.
- Contribute to the AppBFF (Backend for Frontend) using JavaScript/Node to ensure seamless integration between mobile and server-side logic.
- Represent the team by giving demos and participating in architecture committees to uphold and evolve team standards.
- Engage in a "growth mindset" culture by participating in task forces, learning new technologies, and adapting to the evolving needs of a fast-paced product environment.
- Be available for on-call duty and a hybrid office presence.
Your background
- 5+ years of robust experience in delivering high-quality Android products in a professional environment.
- Expertise in Kotlin (Coroutines, Flows, Higher-Order Functions) and experience with legacy Java codebases.
- Strong command of MVVM with UDF architecture and dependency injection using Hilt.
- Proven track record with automated testing, specifically Unit Testing and UI Testing.
- Experience with or a strong willingness to learn JavaScript/Node for AppBFF development.
