As part of our vision to enrich people’s lives through stories, we’re growing our Apps team by hiring an Android Developer to help us build seamless listening experiences for hundreds of thousands of users across Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
About This Position
In this role, you’ll help shape how users experience our premium podcast and audiobook platform. You'll work closely with design, product, backend, QA, and DevOps to ensure the Podme Android app is high-performing, user-friendly, and continuously improving. You'll also contribute to technical decisions, feature design, and the ongoing evolution of our Android platform.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the implementation of scalable and modern architecture as defined by the team
- Develop, test, and deploy high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Write clean, readable, and well-tested code in line with team standards
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with the team
- Collaborate across functions to help define, design, and deliver impactful product features
- Work closely with QA to support automation and ensure application stability
- Identify and address technical debt while contributing to continuous improvements of the codebase
- Evaluate and help introduce new tools, libraries, and development practices where appropriate
- You have around 3–5 years of experience developing Android applications
- You have a solid understanding of Kotlin and the Android SDK
- You have hands-on experience with Jetpack libraries, especially Compose and Navigation
- You understand REST APIs and common mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture
- You are familiar with automated testing frameworks such as Espresso and JUnit
- You take ownership of your work and proactively drive tasks to completion
- You enjoy sharing knowledge and contributing to technical discussions and team improvements
- You have strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with media playback or streaming applications
- Experience working with subscription-based consumer products
- Strong engineering culture built on trust, autonomy, and continuous improvement
- Flexible working hours and hybrid setup with three days per week in our Stockholm office (remote work is not an option)
