Technical Lead, Automotive Software Platforms

Summary:

Echelle Resources is hiring a Technical Lead, Automotive Software Platforms to help design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions that support next generation automotive, connected vehicle, infotainment, and platform experiences.

This is not a traditional consumer mobile app role, and it is not limited to Android Automotive alone. We are looking for someone who can work across automotive Android environments, Google Automotive Services, native Android, Swift and iOS components, Java and .NET services, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery practices.

The ideal candidate is a hands on technical leader who can own complex work independently, make strong architectural decisions, improve delivery process, and mentor existing Echelle staff on engineering discipline, CI/CD, SCRUM, Kanban, estimation, and scalable software delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Lead software design and delivery across automotive platform, integration, service, and application layers.
• Design and contribute to scalable software architectures spanning Java, .NET, Swift, Android, APIs, and Google Automotive Services where applicable.
• Support software solutions tied to connected vehicle, infotainment, Android based automotive environments, and related platform integration work.
• Build, manage, and maintain APIs that connect critical services, tools, systems, and platform components.
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, build automation, release workflows, and deployment practices.
• Train existing Echelle staff on CI/CD tools, development workflows, code quality standards, Agile practices, and engineering best practices.
• Help teams mature their SCRUM, Agile, sprint planning, backlog management, Kanban structure, estimation, and delivery communication.
• Operate effectively as a solo technical owner when needed, taking responsibility for planning, estimation, execution, communication, release, and support.

Qualifications:

• Strong hands on software development experience across automotive, platform, integration, mobile, embedded, or enterprise software environments.
• Experience designing scalable architecture across multiple platforms or technology layers, including Java, .NET, Swift, Android, APIs, or Google Automotive Services.
• Experience with Android based software development. Automotive Android, Android Automotive OS, AOSP, infotainment, or embedded Android experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Swift or iOS development, especially where mobile or connected app components interact with larger platform systems.
• Hands on experience creating, managing, and maintaining APIs in a production, enterprise, or client facing environment.
• Experience implementing, improving, leading, or training teams on CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
• Experience leading or coaching teams on SCRUM, Agile methodology, sprint planning, backlog management, ceremonies, and delivery habits.
• Strong working knowledge of Kanban boards and work item structures, including Epics, Features, Tasks, Bugs, priorities, blockers, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while managing the full software development life cycle.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to mentor technical staff and explain technical decisions clearly.
