Founding Engineer — entropyFA

Princeton, NJ office (2-min walk from the train, so NYC-based works for hybrid)

Early-stage, founding team | Salary + equity

OPPORTUNITY

We're building entropyFA — autonomous AI agents that do real wealth management work. Not chatbots. Not dashboards. Agents that build financial plans, monitor portfolios, harvest tax losses, and generate compliance docs — each client in their own isolated, encrypted environment.

We serve financial advisors, HNW/UHNW families and family offices, and platforms that need financial planning infrastructure via API. Privacy and isolation by design, not bolted on.

STACK

Go, Rust, TypeScript, React, SQLite, Google Cloud, Cloudflare

HOW WE WORK

We believe handwriting software line-by-line is becoming a thing of the past. Our engineering culture is built around managing AI coding agents to move fast and deliberately without sacrificing quality or security.

The job is architecture, system design, UI/UX thinking, code review, and oversight. You're the architect and the flight controller, not the bricklayer. You design the system, direct the agents, verify the output, and make sure nothing ships that you wouldn't stake your reputation on.

Our values: security first, privacy by design, curiosity, and integrity. We ship what we'd be comfortable explaining to a regulator, a client, or a security auditor.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Already using agents as a primary workflow

• Experience at a PaaS or infrastructure company

• Strong architecture instincts - you think in boundaries, contracts, and failure modes

• Comfort with at least two of: Go, Rust, TypeScript

• Rigorous code review - you catch what agents miss

• Interest in financial services, compliance, or regulated industries

Bonus: wealth management or fintech background, open-source contributions

WHY NOW

Agent tooling has crossed a threshold. Fee compression and compliance costs are squeezing advisors. Families expect AI-native tools. Mint is dead, Personal Capital got gutted, and trust in financial platforms is broken. The infrastructure that powers wealth management is ready to be rebuilt.
