Join our cutting-edge XR Calibration team and play a crucial role in shaping the future of Android XR experiences! We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Operator to manage the development copies of our factory stations. You'll work with exciting technologies like collaborative robot arms and prototype XR devices, maintain the working status of our lab stations, and help to perform engineering tests for our factory calibration lines.
In this role, you will be a champion for quality, collaborating closely with developers, program managers, and other quality engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop skills in python automation and software development, working to improve our factory calibration software.
Responsibilities:
- Run and maintain custom lab/factory automation hardware and robots to ensure this hardware is available for engineering work. This may include tasks like:
- Updating camera and spectrometer calibrations as needed
- Weekly test runs with various XR devices to ensure station stability for the platform
- Constructing new custom test stations as required by the team
- Recalibrating older devices which need to be updated to the use the latest calibrations
- Manage custom HW manual stations in Waterloo and ensure they are available for use by the team.
- Write and improve factory automation SW
- Writing test reports and delivering them to the team including data analysis and visualization
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hands on experience with robotics and/or factory automation
- Track record of working hands on with hardware in a lab environment
- Experience with writing SW in Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Track record of shipping high-quality consumer products.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and scheduling systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with automation with robotic arms
- Passion for quality and a knack for breaking things through creative testing.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic environments with rapid project schedules, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
