Android Audio Software Engineer

We are seeking a Android Audio Software Engineer with C/C++ skills and a solid understanding of native development using the Android NDK.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an advanced Android application for maritime communications, integrating both audio and graphical components.

• Implement performance-critical modules using C/C++ with the Android NDK.

• Design and optimize low-level audio pipelines using OpenSL ES and/or AAudio for real-time communication.

• Process and analyze audio signals, including filtering, encoding/decoding, and noise reduction techniques.

• Ensure low-latency and high-reliability audio transmission suitable for naval environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in C/C++ for audio processing.

• Experience developing mobile apps for Android using audio-specific low-level libraries (OpenSLES, AAudio, Oboe), NDK (Native Development Kit), SDK (Software Development Kit), frameworks.

• Experience in Java for Android application integration.

• Experience with Android Studio and SVN, maintaining Android toolchain, build Android APK packages.

• Strong skills using adb, logcat, systrace, and dumpsys.

• Familiarity with ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) and Android Audio Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).

• Knowledge of networking concepts and Linux network stack programming is highly desirable.

• Understanding voice communication and voice signaling concepts is a big plus
