About The Apprenticeship

Learn to build software the right way, on real projects.

Codebased is a UK custom software studio. We design, build and grow bespoke web and mobile software for ambitious businesses, with a collaborative, client-focused culture and a commitment to solving real-world problems through high-quality applications.

As part of the team you will work towards a Level 4 Software Development qualification, supported by expert training from Baltic Apprenticeships. It is a hands-on role: you will develop your coding skills, contribute to projects that matter and gain genuine industry experience in a fast-moving environment.

Full training and support is provided by your workplace mentor and the Baltic team, so you are never left to figure things out on your own.

What you'll do

A typical day in the job.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle, building skills with every project you touch.

Work alongside the team

Collaborate with a leading software development company that serves businesses and investors.

Support our users

Help out on the service desk, assisting investors with application-related enquiries.

Build mobile apps

Contribute to mobile app development projects from early ideas through to release.

Write and maintain code

Develop and maintain code for existing and new projects using PHP, React Native and React.

Plan and design

Take part in the planning and design phases for upcoming applications and projects.

Debug and solve

Debug code to resolve client issues and keep applications running smoothly.

Prototype new features

Develop sample project code for new features and prototypes as ideas take shape.

Test and deploy

Support the testing and deployment phases for new and existing applications.

Maintain and improve

Play an active role in the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of client applications.

What we're looking for

Desired qualities, skills and knowledge.

You do not need professional experience. You do need genuine enthusiasm and a habit of building things.

A passion for software development

A strong passion for software development and a real drive to become a developer.

A hobbyist's curiosity

A hobbyist with experience working on personal projects in your own time.

The right grades

A minimum grade 4/C in English and Maths at GCSE is required for this role.

Eligibility to apply

You must have the right to work in the UK and valid residency status to apply for this apprenticeship.
