Role Overview
The Prototype Developer is a member of the Prototype & Tools team, contributing to the creation of early-stage prototypes for game ideas and supporting the development of internal tools. This is an role designed for developers who are eager to learn, experiment, and grow within a game development environment.
The role focuses on implementing simple prototypes and simulations under the guidance of more experienced developers and mathematicians, helping validate ideas and mathematical assumptions early in the development process.
The ideal candidate is at the beginning of their professional career and is motivated to learn through hands-on work and mentorship. A degree (or final year of studies) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Developing simple playable or technical prototypes for game concepts.
- Writing and running basic simulations (e.g. in Python/Lua) to help validate Math Performance Targets (MPTs) defined by Game Mathematicians.
- Supporting senior developers and mathematicians by implementing well-defined tasks and experiments.
- Create a basic graphics with AI to support the prototype
- Learning to analyze simulation results and clearly report findings.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of internal tools used for prototyping and analysis.
- Collaborating with Game Designers, Developers, QA, and Project Managers during early concept phases.
- Creating and maintaining basic technical documentation for prototypes and tools.
- Intermediate or excellent knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Lua, or similar).
- Interest in simulations, tools, or game-related development.
- Ability to understand mathematical concepts at a high level, with guidance from mathematicians.
- Experimenting and working with AI.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and improve through iteration.
- Attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Basic technical English and clear communication skills.
