Founding Engineer
Indexed description
"Move fast and break things" doesn't work when the things are hospitals, banks, and factory lines.
You set the technical direction, own systems 0 to 1, and build the deployment infrastructure that mission-critical software runs on.
YC-backed. Seed stage. Fully in-person team in NYC with people who've built at Palantir, Vercel, and Capital One.
Small enough that your fingerprints are on the architecture, funded enough that it's real.
You'll build and own highly available systems orchestrating deployment across production environments.
You'll balance shipping fast against building something that scales — and you'll make those calls yourself, not wait for a ticket.
Stack: Go, TypeScript, React; Kubernetes, Docker, Helm; AWS/GCP/Azure; Postgres, S3; GitHub Actions; Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Mimir; Terraform or Pulumi.
Ideally you've built devtools or deployment tooling, not just configured someone else's or you've owned product end-to-end at a high-growth startup.
Suitable for high-agency builders chasing slope, not stability. Also keen to speak to ex-0-to-1 engineers who want to shape a company, not slot into one.
Not for people who've spent their careers configuring systems others designed, or enterprise engineers who prefer the safety of a big machine.
Salary up to $250k + equity. Full-time, in-person in New York.
